Some authors read reviews, others don't. I'm one that does. I was happy to see the 4th review for Mattie's Choice this morning. All four have been five stars. I'm thankful.
This was a hard book to write. I didn't know how it would be received.
I’ve always enjoyed Ms. Lewis’ “Sarah” series. She made me chuckle over the chaos and situations her quirky little angel managed to find herself in. But “Millie’s Choice” shows the depth of word crafting, plot twisting, and purposeful writing that satisfies the reader’s heart even after a gut-wrenching read. I guess from time eternal there has always been domestic violence. But Ms. Lewis brings us into an up close and personal visit into the terror and depths of depravity in man’s heart…all within the guise of false religious beliefs . But Ms. Lewis’s skillful word weaving leaves us armed for the battle, both with ourselves and our daughters. She gives us up-to-date information and questions to ponder before we find ourselves trapped in a position to have to make “Millie’s Choice.” Excellent writing! A timeless and imperative story that must be heard and heeded today.
