Gay's Days, September 6, 2014

Good afternoon!

The clock tells me I need to go to the kitchen and start dinner. My day went by fast.

Hubby and I awoke early this morning. The plumber was scheduled to come at 9:00 to take the toilet out of a bathtub and restore it to the normal place.

Why was it in the bathtub, you ask? Well, we had tile installed in that room, and the thingy had to be removed and put in a spot so tile could be put down, and that seemed the logical location. Sure didn't want the doodad sitting on the lawn.

After he left, I sat down to open email, and I saw that my publisher, Prism Book Group had returned my novella, Sarah and a Dad for Mandy for final edits. I spent the rest of the day editing. The book is now on the way back to the publisher.  I'm not sure when the release date will be, but I'm guessing it will be soon.

This book is the last of the trilogy. The first two are available.

Sarah and the Internet Dating Service, book one

Sarah and the Scary Ferris Wheel, book two

Awaiting the cover for book three

Sarah and a Dad for Mandy.

I hope all of you are having a fun-filled weekend and planning on being in church tomorrow.  I also hope your commode is in the rightful place. LOL.

Blessings!

Gay's Days September 5, 2014

Good morning friends,

Did you sleep well? At 2:30 this morning, I was wide awake. While I sat and read, I hoped sleep would come, and I finally went to bed--still very alert. Somewhere along the way, I dozed but got up when hubby left at 6:00 AM. Don't you know I'm going to be groggy today? Any of you have sleep problems?

Several of the women in the neighborhood do, and we often say we should text each other to see whose awake. We could meet for a ladies night and gab away the long hours until dawn.

The tile men worked hard yesterday and finally left last night around 10:00. They'd promised to finish, and they did. With installers working, I found it difficult to relax. I felt sorry for the guys...it's difficult to get into our gated community. When they arrived yesterday, the guard wouldn't allow them entrance.  They had no Texas ID...they were from Michigan and had to wait for a Texas supervisor to show up and drive them into the area. I offered to go get them and bring them in, but the rules wouldn't allow it. They didn't start their work until noon, and that put them into the night to finish.

I promised a picture of the new floor.  Here you go. It's a white, simple porcelain tile, laid in a brick pattern.  As you can see, we prefer navy and white. Wallpaper is no longer in vogue, but we still enjoy ours. When I helped clients with their homes, I always reminded them that their style and color choices made them unique. They didn't have to clone an interior unless they wanted to.

I've got errands to run, and then tonight, we are dining with friends. If possible, I'd like a nap somewhere along the way.

Ya'll have a good one. I'll catch you tomorrow!

Gay's Days September 4, 2014

When I checked my Facebook page this morning, I had a lovely surprise. Vicki Caine has featured Sarah and me on her blog. I'd be thankful if you'd stop over and say hello to us.

I'm waiting for tile installation today. We bought new flooring for the kitchen, and part of the tile has been installed. After it's finished, I'll show you a picture. When the men were about completed, they found that the last ten boxes held a different color. So we've been waiting for the correct tile to arrive in Houston. They say they've found it. Boy! Am I hoping they did, but it will be the third time to say that.  We've moved everything into a bedroom, and I'd like to get the items back in place.

My new neighbors are moving in this week. I haven't met them yet. The lady who moved was super nice, and we will miss her around here. The house has about 6,000 square feet and was too large for one person.  I took this picture from my back porch. Our two yards have lovely, large trees--an aspect I love.

Back in my interior design days, I staged the house for the first time it went on the market. These people will be the third family to live next door.

I enjoyed staging and glamorizing interiors. In my second book, Sarah helps an interior designer.
Here's the cover.  Have you read it?  Please do and leave a review on Amazon.  Writers appreciate feedback.

It's about time for the installers to arrive, so I'll sign off for today. I'll be in the bedroom reading. Ya'll have a good one! Stay cool and safe.
