Hubby and I once sang

Why is it as you age, one of the things to go is the voice?  I love to listen to Sandi Patty. Her voice has thrilled thousands for years, but she is retiring.  She commented that after sixty, the voice changes. She's sixty, but she till sounds great.

Hubby and I don't have anything like Sandi's quality, but we sang. His voice is still good. Mine....not so much.  If you haven't heard Sandi, please listen to her.

Our church is privileged to have a phenomenal pianist in Jane Turner. She's famous in her own right. She owns the Rosenberg Opry and teaches music, instruments and voice to kids. If you take lessons for her, you're blessed.

My voice requires a lower key these days, and Jane has the ability to transpose music.  Our small church is fortunate to have Jane who provides beautiful music each Sunday. We are also blessed to have a good pastor who has earned two post graduate degrees. Not many small churches like ours have talent with these credentials.

Small, country churches deserve blessings, and God has given us several. And I wish He'd let me sing as bad as I used to.

Book Signing Is Fun!

There are no words to tell you how much more fun I have to meet fans and new friends when I sign book.

I'd like to do this every day.

It won't happen today because  I'm calling Obama Care and the dot gov people AGAIN. The ordeal of dealing with these issues drives me to tears. Literally.

I called on entity this morning, and they made no sense, so I said, "I'm sorry I phoned you." And then I hung up. Perhaps they make sense to you when you call. I envy you if they do.

Our daughter is too young for dementia, but she has it. Her dad and I take care of her business affairs.

Maybe I should write a book about it. Nah. I like to make people smile, not cry with frustration..

I'm ready to get this settled AGAIN!  Every year, we must sign up. Why can't it just be an ongoing thing? You get the Obama Care, pay out the wazoo for it, deal with doctors and waiting lines, but it's done. No more hassle for enrollment.

Enough of this baloney. I'm gonna do something happy. Sarah is in the middle of taking a young woman to a hair salon. The lady's fuzzy red hair is about to receive low lights. Uh-oh! Can you believe Sarah ate the hair dye?  She thought it was a bowl of pudding. You know she's always hungry. Now the stylist is calling 911. I better go save Sarah.

I read a post on Facebook from a woman who wrote now that Trump is the President-elect, she's afraid she'll lose Social Security and Obama Care.

Her thinking is skewed. She won't lose Social Security because Trump won the election. 

As far as Obama Care? I hope a replacement comes along.

I deal with it for our daughter. I've had one mess after another with it.  

I spend hours each week attempting to correct mistakes in the system. Since our daughter has dementia, my husband and I take care of her business. All government correspondence comes to us, and they telephone us when something new comes along.

Here's a recent conversation from a lady at Obama Care.

Lady:  I can't talk to you. I need to talk to XXXX.

Me: XXXX isn't here, she's with her caregiver, but you called me and you have my address.

Lady:  I can't talk to you.

Me:  XXXX gave you permission to talk to me. That's how you have my name and number.

Lady:  We don't have a record of that.

Me:  But you called ME!

Lady;  Your name isn't here.

This went on and on. The lady was following rules, but my point is this. Not only is Obama Care expensive, they make many mistakes and I know for a fact that the care is not the same quality.

Our daughter couldn't keep her former doctors and the new ones might be good, but they are too over worked to provide the same attention she once had. So she has not received what she needs. The time wait is extensive, and once seen, she's dismissed too easily.

The woman who posted on Facebook shouldn't worry. Her monthly Social Security checks will continue. If she's eligible for SS, she should be eligible for Medicare, so I don't know why she's so concerned about Obama Care.

If you're one of the people who like Obama Care, good for you. I'm pleased it works for you.

It hasn't worked in our case, and I'm hoping the new administration comes up with a better plan.

Forget your troubles, anxieties and frustrations with one of my books. The fantasy is my Sarah stories is a good escape.
